The highest mountain of the Serra da Estrela range and mainland Portugal. At the summit, there is a seven-meter pillar, reaching an elevation of 2000 m above sea level. The highest mountain in all of Portugal is the volcano Ponta do Pico in the Azores (2351 m).
You can drive to the summit, but for hikers, there are also fantastic trails with dramatic views.
