On the hill, there are the remains of an early medieval Slavic fort and a medieval castle. The fort was established around the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries, and in 921, the later canonized Princess Ludmila was murdered there. The castle was built on a promontory next to the former fort, likely in the mid-13th century. Both the castle and the fort are cultural monuments.
