Soukenná is part of challenge: Thousanders of the Jeseníky

Soukenná is part of the mountain massif extending southward from the main ridge of Hrubý Jeseník, east of the Stříbrný stream, northwest of the settlement Nová Ves (municipality of Dolní Moravice). On the eastern side of the summit area, there are rugged rock formations. From the summit, there is a view into the Moravice valley, as well as towards Rýmařov and Bruntál. The actual summit of Soukenná is very gently rounded with a difficult-to-locate highest point in a moderately dense forest, its elevation above the saddle of Jelení hřbet is likely exactly 5 m. There is no geodetic point at this location; it is about 300 m further along the path. The path continues south through very interesting wrinkled rock formations.
Height on the ČÚZK map is 1025.8 m, saddle according to elevation analysis is 1021.2 m, so prominence is 4.6 m and it is more of a bump than a secondary peak.
