A small forested hill Straník located in the Kysucká vrchovina mountain range near Žilina has been a paradise for paragliding and hang gliding since the 1930s. Almost all military pilots and pilots of Czechoslovak Airlines in Slovakia trained here. Besides sports flying enthusiasts, this hill is also sought after by hikers. From the summit equipped with a television and radio transmitter, there is a beautiful view of the Malá Fatra, Žilina basin, and Kysuce. There is a marked hiking trail leading to Straník from the Žilina district of Zástranie. The hike is easy, suitable for families with children.

The chalet is just below the summit, primarily serving the paragliding club.
