At the summit named after Tenzing Norgay, the first conqueror of Mount Everest (together with Edmund Hillary), stands the buildings of the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, which he co-founded as an educational center for Sherpas. Today, his tomb is located in the courtyard, and the institute regularly organizes climbing courses and professional training. There is also a museum on the premises where you can learn all about the beginnings of Himalayan mountaineering and see historical climbing expedition equipment. Right next door is the Himalayan Zoo.
