At the summit of a conical trachyte hill, there is the ruin of a late Gothic castle of the same name, from which the ramparts, moats, and parts of the walls are still preserved. The strategic and well-fortified castle was built by Zikmund of Vartenberk between 1423 and 1427 after he lost his nearby castle Panna. Castle Litýš was meant to be a response and a new threat to the nearby Hussite castle Kalich.
