Kryžių kalnas, or Hill of Crosses, is an artificially created mound with tens of thousands of crosses located northeast of the city of Šiauliai. It is the most significant pilgrimage site in Lithuania and likely in the entire Baltic region. This place has also become a symbol of anti-communist resistance.
