The highest mountain of the Smrčiny (Fichtelgebirge) range in the Ore Mountains. The northernmost thousand-meter peak in Bavaria. At the summit rock, there is an interesting viewpoint called Backöfele, nearby a former military area with a prominent telecommunications tower, and to the southwest of the summit, the Ohře spring.
