Popovská hora is part of challenge: Cross on the Summit of Domestic Mountains and Hills

A prominent basalt peak above the former mining settlement of Mariánská (to the north, part of Jáchymov) and the abandoned village of Popov (to the south, Pfaffengrün). At the summit stood a wooden cross, of which only the pole remains, but in autumn 2020 a new cross was erected, which still stands (08/2026). You can also see the typical columnar jointing of basalt here in hints. However, the main reason for a trip here is the stunning aerial and almost circular view.

Stroller access: Peak is not stroller accessible.
Views: Breathtaking, almost circular view of the Karlovy Vary region, the Jáchymov part of the Ore Mountains, the Doupov Mountains, and the Tepelsko Highlands.
