Góra Trzech Krzyży in Szydłowiec, also known as Mała Golgota, is a hill with an elevation of 272 m above sea level, offering views of the city center. The origins of the hill are linked to local traditions about plagues, however, recent research suggests it is an old spoil heap from sandstone mining. At the summit, there are crosses that likely commemorate fears of an epidemic. It forms an interesting place with a rich history and picturesque views. Szydłowiec is a district town in the Masovian Voivodeship with a number of interesting sites. Notably, in the market square, we find a beautiful town hall and a church. To the northwest of the market square is a castle located on an island in the middle of a lake. The castle houses both a city museum and a museum of folk musical instruments, the only one in Poland and one of the few in the world. To the northeast, there is an extensive Jewish cemetery. Directly below Góra Trzech Krzyży, we find Zalew w Szydłowcu. It is a small reservoir on the Korzeniówka River with swimming opportunities and a beautiful sandy beach. South of Góra Trzech Krzyży are flooded quarries. Above the Podkowiński quarry, there is a zipline and a small via ferrata. While walking through the town, we can also see various murals.
