Jaźwina (361 m a.s.l.) is the highest peak in the Ociesęce mountain range, which stretches between the valleys of the Łukawka River to the west and the Czarna Staszowska River to the east. Jaźwina, located in the Cisowsko-Orłowiński Landscape Park, is composed of Devonian sandstone. To the north, the summit is bordered by cultivated fields, while the rest of the hill is covered with mixed forest, predominantly beech and fir. From the summit, a beautiful panorama of the Łukawka valley and the Cisowskie and Orłowińskie mountains unfolds.
The Świętokrzyskie region was the largest battlefield during the January Uprising. On November 18, 1863, a skirmish broke out near Ociesęki (a village at the foot of the Jaźwina River) between part of General Józef Hauke-Bosak's group and three companies of Russian infantry along with a detachment of Cossacks. The insurgents surrounded the Moscow column, and during the fighting, approximately 80 Russians were killed or wounded. Twenty-two insurgents were killed and buried in the cemetery in Ociesęki. In January 2013, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the outbreak of the January Uprising, a new metal cross with a commemorative granite plaque was placed at their grave.
The yellow hiking trail of Henryk Orliński leads over the summit of Jaźwina, from Szydłów through Raków to Widełki.
