A prominent mountain on the German side of Šumava, just a kilometer from the Czech border. The slopes of Almberg are used as a ski resort, with one of the lifts going all the way to the summit. The summit plateau offers a panoramic view, including Roklan and Luzný. On clear autumn days influenced by the föhn, the Northern Limestone Alps can be seen from Totes Gebirge to Zugspitze.
