The summit is accessible from the red hiking trail leading to Kleiner Priel. You turn off the red trail approximately at the contour line at an altitude of 1930m and follow the contour line to the ridge, continuing along the rocky ridge to Karlspitze. The path is unmarked and the rocky ridge is also airy. Another option is to reach the summit by following the contour line from the red hiking trail over the Kessenspitz peak. The route also passes through a scree field.
