Smrečiny / Smreczyński Wierch Z is part of challenge: The Highest Peaks of the Western Tatras

A double-peaked summit in a touristically inaccessible part of the Western Tatras. A worn path traverses its northern side, and it is more easily accessible from the east via Smrečinské saddle.

Equipment

...this traverse is very dangerous in stronger winds and especially with even minimal snow cover, which can be encountered as early as the end of summer!!! Without crampons or an ice axe, the risk of slipping is very high.

Accessibility

This peak is a popular refuge for the now rare chamois, and therefore access is officially prohibited. The area is in the highest level of protection (NPR Tichá dolina) - entry is not permitted even with a mountain guide!
