Levý Hradec was an early medieval fortified settlement located in the area of today's town of Roztoky (in the cadastral area of the former independent municipality of Žalov), 10 km northwest of the center of Prague. This settlement was likely the original residence of the Přemyslid prince Borivoj I. He had the first Christian church in Bohemia, dedicated to St. Clement, built here in the 80s of the 9th century. The site has been protected as a cultural monument since 1965 and was inscribed on the list of national cultural monuments in 1978. (source: Wikipedia.cz)
