Venušina sopka is part of challenge: Czech Volcanoes
Extinct Quaternary volcano. Flat summit crater and side craters with lava caves. Two lava flows head northeast. The summit was destroyed in the past by ash mining. Geologically, the volcano is composed of effusive rocks, predominantly basalt, covered with volcanic ejecta of tuffs and tuffites, with occurrences of so-called volcanic pumice. Venušina sopka is also known mineralogically, as green mineral olivine is commonly found in the basalt.
