Káčov is part of challenges: Czech Volcanoes, The Highest Mountains of Central Bohemia, The Highest Peaks of Český ráj, Ultrakopce
The highest peak of the Mnichovohradišťská basin in the Jičín Highlands. A former Tertiary volcano, formed by the intrusion of a basalt vein into Cretaceous sediments of clays and sandstones. Long-term erosion has created a bizarre steep formation, further shaped by former quarrying. The northwestern side of the summit plateau is crowned by an impressive basalt rock tower. The highest point is on the southwestern side, in a small forest, next to a photovoltaic power plant.
