Directly from the parking lot along the trail, the Trig track leads to the summit of the mountain, guiding you past enormous sequoias, through ferns, and classic New Zealand forest to the top, where a wooden lookout tower stands. From there, you have 360-degree views of the forested mountain range that unfolds before you like a green wave. Once at the summit, also take the Rimu-loop walk trail that leads north from the parking lot. At its end, there is a set of stunning waterfalls. By the way, in Te Puke, there is farmer Jeff Roderick, who owns kiwi orchards and loves to employ Czechs because we are hardworking and fun to be with.
