The memorial is dedicated to members of the resistance during World War II who passed through this place. Eight partisans tragically perished when a German anti-partisan unit set fire to a barn in the nearby hamlet of Šerhovny in 1944, two others were captured and taken away to an unknown location, and only one escaped, along with two others who were out for food supplies. The memorial is maintained by KČT Valašská Bystřice.
