Vrchol Ocolașul Mare was added here by Martin Matějka and info was completed by Martin Matějka.

Ocolașul Mare is part of challenge: Crown of the Carpathians

The highest peak of the Carpathian range of Bistrița, located in Ceahlău National Park. The summit is situated above an impressive limestone (or conglomerate?) cliff. A marked trail bypasses it at a distance of 400 meters, and an unmarked path passes by about 60 meters away, making it officially inaccessible. For the purposes of the Crown of the Carpathians challenge, it is sufficient to approach the summit or climb the nearby Vârful Toaca. This peak is 3 meters lower but is easily accessible via a marked trail and a metal staircase.
