A prominent rock outcrop south of Bílina. Breathtaking views of the Czech Central Mountains. Formed by neovolcanic activity in the Tertiary period, when a basalt laccolith intruded into the Cretaceous layers of claystones during the uplift of the underlying gneiss massif. Its lower part has an intrusive character (subsurface lava flow), while the upper part is extrusive (lava that solidified on the surface). The rock outcrop was shaped by processes of freeze-thaw weathering and erosion. Monumental columnar jointing with rock walls up to 100 m high, numerous rock needles, towers, columns, crevice caves, and other formations. The slopes are covered with stony clay debris and debris fields.
