It is located on the eastern slope of Soudný Hill - above the left bank of the Elbe River. It is named after the German naturalist and explorer Alexander von Humboldt. An unmarked path leads to the viewpoint from the former salt trail, which goes over Soudný Hill to Větruše. At the viewpoint platform, there is a massive shaded bench with a wooden figure of Alexander von Humboldt. From here, there are views into the Elbe Valley (Střekov Castle, Masaryk Lock) and the peaks of the Czech Central Mountains lining the right bank of the Elbe. A steep path called "Heavenly Steps" leads from the viewpoint down to the Elbe Valley.
