The southwest peak of Raná is part of a national nature reserve. It features one of the most significant feather grass steppes in the Czech Central Mountains. Here, you can find the critically endangered steppe oat and the common suslik. An endemic form of feather grass also appears here. Until recently, it was the last location of the rock butterfly, which nearly became extinct here.
