The ascent can be made from several sides, marked trails lead from both the northern and southern sides, and it is also possible to traverse from other peaks from the eastern and western sides. Along the way to the summit and directly at the top, there are views of the city and surrounding mountains. The rock at the summit resembles a lion's head, hence the name Lion Rock.
