One of the five "Five Great Mountains of China", among the sacred ones. The ascent is made via stairs surrounded by many smaller and larger temples, ancient and well-maintained trees. From the summit, there is a view of the surroundings and towards the large historical Chinese city of Datong (about 65 km away). At the foot of this mountain, on the rock, lies the "Hanging Temple", a monastery hanging in the cliffs, where Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism have mingled for hundreds of years.
