At the summit stands a castle of the same name from the 13th century. The elevation of 509 m on the western side of the walls is not the highest point; according to the ČÚZK elevation analysis app, the highest point is at the base of the castle tower, reaching a height of 522 m! With this height, Buchlov would surpass the neighboring hill Modla (Barborka) and gain a prominence of 105 meters. There is a possibility that the highest point is of artificial origin (part of the castle structure), but due to the five-meter buffer, it is highly likely that Buchlov is a new ultrapeak!
