The summit is notable for its striking red-colored southern wall. Accessible via an unmarked but clearly visible path from the tourist junction at the intersection of the red hiking trails. From the lower trails, you can reach Rote Wand either from Dümlerhütte or from Wurzeralm and continue further to Toter Mann and Warscheneck.
