The highest mountain of the Veitsch Alps in Styria, Austria. The mountain range is predominantly a plateau, which is reflected in the shape of the summit. It drops steeply with limestone cliffs to the south and north, rising only as a dome that significantly towers over the other peaks protruding from the plateau. There is a wooden cross at the summit.

Access
The ascent to the summit is possible from several directions:

The most commonly used route is trail no. 465 leading from the Scheickl hotel (1154 m) on the southern side of the massif. The trail passes 150 meters below the summit near the mountain hut Graf-Meran-Haus (1836 m).
Duration: 2.5 hours.

The route from the north starts from the village of Niederalpl (921 m). This trail is also marked as no. 465 and ascends to the summit through the Veitschalmgraben canyon along the slopes of Grosser Wildkamm (1874 m).
Duration: 3.5 hours.

The last option is the ascent from the northeast from the village of Mürzsteg. This is the longest approach, where trail no. 466 and the connecting E4 Alpin traverse the entire Veitsch Alps massif culminating in Hohe Veitsch.
