Kněží hora is one of the five peaks between which Charles IV ordered the construction of Karlštejn Castle between 1348 and 1365. It is also the site that was chosen by the Hussites in 1422 as their main base during the siege of this castle. A wooden house for the canons of the Karlštejn chapter also stood here - hence the name Kněží. A relatively comfortable gravel path leads to the summit, but the peak (and the path) is located within the NPR Karlštejn and is therefore inaccessible.
