Holubyho chata is located on the eastern slope of Velká Javořina in the White Carpathians. It is accessible to the public year-round and offers accommodation and refreshments.

The construction of the lodge was initiated by the Czechoslovak Tourist Club in Uherský Brod and in Stará Turá, along with the Ministry of Commerce. The foundation stone was laid on July 8, 1923, and the construction was led by Josef Jirásek from Uherský Brod.

Shortly before the construction began, Jozef Ľudovít Holuby – a Protestant preacher, botanist, ethnographer, and advocate of Czechoslovak mutuality – passed away in Pezinok. In his honor, Ferdinand Prager, the chairman of the Czechoslovak Tourist Club in Uherský Brod, proposed naming the lodge after him. The proposal was accepted, and the lodge first opened to the public on July 6, 1924.

Unfortunately, on December 10, 1926, the lodge was destroyed by fire. However, the Czechoslovak Tourist Club decided to rebuild it, and the new lodge was opened on July 22, 1930. In the following years, an access road, hiking markings, and ski lifts were added. However, in 1939, the development of the lodge was interrupted by the disintegration of Czechoslovakia.

After the war, the lodge changed hands several times among state enterprises and managers. In 1989, it was purchased by the then-manager Miroslav Masarik. In 2006, Miroslav Martinček took over the lodge, which he reopened after several years of inactivity and added a covered terrace in 2010-2011 based on historical photographs.

For the 90th anniversary of the lodge's founding, a commemorative plaque with a bronze bust of Jozef Ľudovít Holuby was unveiled on the facade on July 28, 2013. The author of the bust is academic sculptor Stano Mikus.
