This renovated alpine hut, surrounded by Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, and Besse, is very attractive due to its impressive high mountain environment at the end of the Val d'Anniviers area. All ascents are of a high mountain character. You can stay on the terrace of Arpitettazhütte and enjoy the world of glaciers. Access is suitable for mountain hikers, but the alpine crossing to Tracuit hut is recommended only for experienced alpine hikers (the passes are secured with chains).
This beautifully situated accommodation is located on a lovely mountain meadow (Patois ar pitetta = small meadow). The hut is operated by members of the La Dôle section, so the food offerings are limited. For substantial meals, self-catering is the order of the day! The spelling is common on the national map, and in literature and on old maps, you will also find "Ar Pitetta" or "Arpitetta".
The hut with 32 sleeping places is monitored by volunteer members of the section from mid-March to early May and during the 3 summer months.
