Milešovka

The highest mountain of the Czech Central Mountains and the sixth most prominent mountain in the Czech Republic! Probably the windiest mountain in the Czech Republic, with calm weather only eight days a year. The mountain massif is composed of Tertiary magmatic rocks, primarily trachyte. It is not a classic volcano, but a tectonically uplifted laccolith (subsurface lava flow).
At the summit stands a meteorological station from 1905 and next to it a 19-meter high lookout tower, offering excellent 360° views. The Milešovka chalet provides refreshments and a cozy emergency overnight stay for up to 10 people. Refreshments are closed on Mondays and the emergency overnight shelter is locked.
