Latarnia Morska, the maritime lighthouse in the village of Niechorze, is located on a 22-meter high coastal cliff, making this peak a prominent feature of the surrounding coastline. Due to the forestation of the cliff, the lighthouse is barely visible from the beach itself.
The lighthouse was completed on the orders of the Imperial German Ministry of Shipping and was first lit on December 1, 1866.
The cliff is situated on the Trzebiatów coast on the Szczecin coast (part of the South Baltic coast).
