The most prominent mountain of the Šluknov Highlands and the highest on the German side of the range (Lausitzer Bergland). In Upper Sorbian, Sokolnik. At the summit stands the tower of King John. On the viewing platform of the lookout tower is a historic stone pillar of the Royal Saxon triangulation - Station 6 Valtenberg.
