Kelčský Javorník is part of challenges: Crown of Regions and Districts, Most Isolated, Nejhory Valašska, Nejhory Zlínska, The Most Prominent Mountains of the Czech Republic, Ultrakopce
The highest peak of the Hostýn Hills and the most prominent mountain of the entire Hostýn-Vsetín Highlands. On the northern slope, in the area of Rajnochovice, lies a nature reserve of the same name. The reason for its protection is the preserved remnant of a natural mixed forest approaching primeval forest status.
More than 20 years ago, a wooden lookout tower stood at the summit of Kelčský Javorník, but it had to be demolished later for safety reasons. In 2015, a new lookout tower was ceremonially opened. From the observation platform at an altitude of 893 m above sea level, one can see the Hostýn Hills, the Jeseníky Mountains with Praděd, Králický Sněžník, the Beskydy Mountains, the Javorníky, and the Vsetín Hills, as well as Buchlov Castle and the Chřiby, the Vizovické Hills, and even the Little Fatra, the White Carpathians, and Povážský Inovec.
